Welcome to my Portfolio

My name is Chris Jones. I am 24 Years old and currently studying towards my final year of a three year Computer Aided Design course at the University of Winchester. To date, I have worked in the construction industry as a draughtsman for three and a half years. I am currently looking to further my knowledge and education using a range of software in various sectors of industry. This website portfolio is to demonstrate and show my work that I have completed throughout my course at Winchester.

Previous employment

Throughout my three and a half years of draughting I have been lucky enough to be envolved in some major construction projects across both Wales and England completing a variety of work.

The International confrence centre for Wales, Newport

The largest building project I have been involved in was the 150 million pound International confrence centre for Wales (ICCW) loctaed on the Celtic Manor site next to the M4 in Newport, South Wales. Throughout this Project I was involved in all secondary steelwork and staircases for the building by drawing on both 2D Autocad and a 3D structural programme called Tekla Structures. I was also a drawings manager for my company ensuring all drawings were correctly named, filed and ordered before being sent off for approval to both site managers and other companies working alongside ourselves during construction.

The Wave centre, Bristol

Another construction project I have been involved in was the Wave centre located in Bristol. This is an artificial external wave lake that allows people to to surf whenever they would like. My role in this project was secondary steelwork alongside all balustrade and stair designs. There were a total of over 500m of handrail to be drawn for this project that extend along the 200m pier and around the wooden clubhouse.
